Redeem/Use Boca Bucks?
I have been a Boca Java customer for over 5 years now. I noticed the Boca Bucks link no longer takes me to an online catalog to use my points. How do I redeem them?? I have over 6000 - I was "saving up" for something special.

As previously posted, if you are currently a Gold, Platnium, or Commodore member, you will still continue to accumulate your Boca Bucks. Although the Buca Bucks page is no longer available, you can now redeem your Boca Bucks for a store credit. This benefit gives you endless possibilities as to what you can redeem your Boca Bucks instead of being only limited to the items on the Boca Bucks page.
Similar to other retailers, our promotions vary from time to time to keep our offers fresh and relevant. Depending on your start date in the program, the promotion with which you entered and your member level (Gold, Platinum, Commodore), your Boca Bucks total will vary. We feel it would be best for you to contact customer service at 1-888-262-2528 between the hours of 8:30 am to 5:30 pm ET Monday through Friday for one-on-one attention and communication so that there is no confusion about your total. You are a very loyal and valued customer of ours, and we want to make your experience as satisfying as possible.

I, too, had several thousand Boca Bucks but now don't even have it shown on my account, so they're just gone. And I don't see any difference in what I was paying for coffee or shipping since my first club order. So where is this 25% savings? and where have my Boca Bucks gone?

We understand there may be some questions regarding redeeming Boca Bucks. Unfortunately, we no longer have the Boca Bucks page to view the various rewards because we have discontinued offering the Boca Bucks program to our new members since they receive 25% off their shipping charge(s).
However, we do still honor that program with customers who had 5,000 Boca Bucks or more. Your Boca Bucks may now be converted into an in-store credit that may be applied towards your recurring shipments and/or ANY of the items at www.BocaJava.com! If you have reached this tier, you will also continue to accumulate Boca Bucks for each of your orders. Store credits are only valid for 90 days from issuance so whenever you are ready to redeem your Boca Bucks for an in-store credit, please contact us via email or you may speak with our Customer Care Team directly at 1-888-262-2528, Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM EST.

Your customer service department seems to be a little out of touch with it's customers. The best answer to most of these posts is to just put the rewards page back up for those customers still in the bucks program. I think a lot of people are right on the edge of deciding if premium coffee is a justifiable expense these days and you have helped them decide. I just noticed that these posts are 6 months old, so maybe there is nobody still reading this from Boca. -

I spent several hours looking for the info on my Boca Bucks, finally tried again to day and found these posts. I had never received any info about the discontinuance. It seems like Boca thought they would quietly quit giving us these bucks and we wouldn't notice? Where did they supposedly "post" this info....I never saw it as I changed my order each shipment. Closing my account...don't like what they have done and I am tired of their slow web page. I can get great beans at my local market for better prices. Bye Boca Java. -

I agree with all the comments above. I called customer service, and was simply told the same answer, that we are getting savings on shipping, but I do not really see that. I can not even see how many Boca Bucks I HAD, as they have simply disappeared, and that which I was saving for something special is no longer accessable. Customer care wants me to tell them how many I have, so that tells me I am not getting the benefits I once thought I was siging on to receive. I am looking for a company that truely knows how to give customer care. Although the coffee is good, there is plenty of competition! -

Any customer that had less than 5,000 Boca Bucks was automatically converted to our improved Home Delivery service. Although Boca Bucks would no longer be accumalated, your savings begin automatically as oppose to saving up Boca Bucks to redeem for a reward later on. You would now receive 25% off of your shipping charge(s).
In comparison to your first club order, our promotional offers always save you the most at one time since it is at a introductary rate. However, with the new program, you'll also receive lots of other benefits like exclusive access to member-only coffees & special discount offers not available to the general public. Trisha's reply is dated 8 months ago and BCosta just commented 4 hours ago. That's weird. This company is a drag to deal with. However, I did just call and talk to someone about the BOCA Bucks. I am not exactly sure what they are doing, however she did tell me I had about $130.00 dollars that I could spend on anything they sell. But I had to call and let them know I was going to spend the bucks. If I had said yes (which I didn't) I would have 90 days to spend the money. And the way I understand it, if I didn't use the money in 90 days, they would put it towards my shipping. -
Inappropriate?I too had several 1000 bucks but perhaps not 5000...but then I don't know how many since I cannot check online. I will have to say I am very disappointed. To save a dollar or two on shipping every month or two just is not significant. Oh well, I will just buy my coffee locally at a lower cost.

So instead of looking at what I wanted at my leisure, I now have to "redeem them" by contacting customer service first.
FYI TO THE COMPANY PERSON WHO THOUGHT THEY ANSWERED THIS QUESTION. YOU HAVE NOT! YOU HAVE FAILED TO TELL US WHAT AMOUNT OUR BUCKS ARE VALUED AT. IF I WANT TO SPEND ALL OF MY 12,219 THEN HOW MUCH DOES THAT TRANSLATE TO? PRETTY SURE IT ISN'T $12K.
MY OTHER ISSUE WITH BOCA JAVA IS YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SUSPEND YOUR ACCOUNT FOR A LIMITED TIME.
IF I CAN'T DO THAT THEN AFTER I SPEND MY BUCKS I AM CANCELLING.

Inappropriate?Where/when was the communication that the "club" was being turned off? I've not seen a decrease in the bill for my orders unless the ending of the club was linked to a price hike.
Enough of my vent, so if I get the straight I'll get a "credit" for my 16K points. Will it apply to my next (and last recurring order) so i can then find a new service?

If there is a Boca Bucks balance over 5,000 currently on your Boca Java account, it can be redeemed for an in-store credit which can be used towards making online purchases and/or recurring club shipments. However, this conversion will ONLY be done by contacting us via email or telephone and by specifying the exact dollar amount you would like to have redeemed, if not all. The store credit will be valid for 90 days from issuance and will automatically be applied towards any recurring club orders within this 90 day time frame if not used online towards any other discretionary purchases. You will also continue to accumulate Boca Bucks for any further purchases as long as the account remains active.

Inappropriate?This is just another example of this service heading in the wrong direction. I sure don't feel like much of a "Connoisseur" any longer. if there are any issues with Boca Java's business plan they sure aren't counting on customer loyalty to get them through tough times. I would imagine that the people that order on a regular basis would get a better shake; and if not, as a preferred customer we wouldn't have to go digging to get answers. I think the product is great but the other aspects of the service needs a "shot in the arm". Very disappointing. Boca Java should remember; no customer=no business

I think you hit the issue on the head; great product, total loss of contact with the regular customers who have recurring shipments, whatever happened to good customer service?
In my case when I said I was thinking of dropping the service, all I got was a post here, which in my opinion amounted to a “so sad, to bad” reply. No direct contact asking what could be done to keep my business. It is like they don’t want the customers to come back.
Boca says it’s a business model decision, but they fail to realize that the most successful marketing model in the last 30 years has been the customer loyalty programs, starting with American AAdvantage program, that was to be only a temporary marketing gimmick to get the flyers back after the airline strike in the late 70s. 40 years later, frequent flier programs are still going strong. Any business that has attempted to terminate a loyalty program without a massive communication program only ends up with what we are seeing now, a lot of pissed of customers that are looking for a replacement product.
It’s a shame; I was hoping Boca was not going the way of Gevalia.

What you are saying is that if you have over 5,000 Boca Bucks nothing has changed except There is no members only shopping place. We still receive the same rewards, discount on orders, discount on shipping and our Bucks continue to increase. Does our membership level still increase as our Bucks increase? If so Where am I and what is my discounts? Because like everyone else, I too am a little confused.....

Inappropriate?How do we know if we are gold, platinum etc? I can't see it on my account. I've been shopping here for years and feel a little cheated. My husband has always said we can get cheaper, equal quality coffee in the grocery store. I used to be able to counter that we got extra perks like our coffee grinder, but now i can say we save on shipping... except the grocery store coffee does not need to be shipped. so bad idea boca java.

However it does not show you your Club level. We will talk with our IT/ Creative Department to see if this can be added. Inappropriate?I am also frustrated. I came on here because I noticed my bill was higher. Coffee price has increased plus shipping. So I am paying almost 20 dollars for 2 bags of beans.
We live overseas, so not only is it expensive to call for the conversion, I can't call during office hours because you guys AREN'T OPEN. I have a fair amount of boca bucks, but I may just cut my losses and go for grocery store beans. Starting to be not worth it.

Inappropriate?Guess I didn't notice til now..I remember it being 6-something. My fault for not noticing sooner.
My bags are piling up, so I tried to make shipments every 12 weeks but there is no option for that. I find that frustrating. Also, I don't like the fact that you have to spend at least 14 on every shipment to get the savings.(don't remember what it's called) All these little controlling rules is what makes the program frustrating. If you let the customer control more, you will have more happy customers.
The one thing I definitely like are the baby bocas that come free every now and then. That's pretty great.

Inappropriate?The baby bocas are another story...You have to keep on top of them--as a member you should get them with EVERY shipment! Sometimes they change out the flavors and if they change the one you have bulleted guess what? You don't get one. I contacted Boca Java about this last month and recieved a less than friendly reply basically telling me it was my own fault and I should have checked it myself but they are adding an extra to my next shipment.
I only buy from Boca Java because I like certain flavors and that will not change so I do not usually log on to look--I know what I want. But I will be checking up on the Baby Boca selection every few weeks or so. Wish they would send out an email to members when they change out the flavors. -

Although it may seem like a hassle to have to select a Baby Boca prior to each shipment, we do not automatically send them because not all of our members like for them to be shipped. We sincerely apologize that when we change the coffees, your choice is no longer selected; however most of our customers enjoy having the variety! It's also a great way to try something new and different! However, you've made a great suggestion in regards to an email being sent when the choices have changed and I'll forward your idea to the proper department for consideration!

Inappropriate?I was "saving up" my Boca Bucks, too, and I had over 27,000. I got on the website to see what I could get and found all these comments about the changes to the Boca Bucks program. I called customer service (on a toll free number), spoke to a very pleasant person for a few minutes, and had my Boca Bucks converted into an account credit just like that.
I went back to the website, found and ordered the coffee maker I wanted, added some additional products, and they are on the way FREE of charge. PLUS - I got discounts on the purchase according to my Commodore Member's Level in the club, and Boca Bucks on the purchase, too.
Of course, the disounts you get and the bucks you receive will depend on your member level. You might have to pay a little extra when you spend your Boca Bucks, depending on how many you have and what you want to buy. In my opinion, though, the Boca Bucks program is better than ever. There is an excellent choice of items to get when you "spend" your bucks, and the Boca Java customer service people make it easy.
I will be staying in the club and on the automatic shipment program. Boca Java is great coffee and the program is a nice added bonus!

Agreed with this post. I'm having a difficult time seeing what all the fussing and whining are about. I spent maybe 4 minutes on the phone with an extremely pleasant and helpful customer service representative (and I'm sorry I didn't get her name), got an exact dollar amount that my 15K+ Boca Bucks would translate into, had that amount credited to my account (and it showed up immediately on the website). The Boca Bucks will continue to accrue as well, so I'm confused as to what some of the belly-achers are thinking they've lost. Bottom line is, if you enjoy the coffee, keep on ordering it. If you don't, then I guess... don't let the door hit you on the way out. The Boca Bucks program was a little extra, something special, not an entitlement, and IT'S STILL GOING ON, PEOPLE. Frankly, most of the "prizes" on the site didn't interest me anyhow, that's why my Bucks had accrued to the level they were, and I'd much rather have the option (as I do now) to spend them on my regular order or something I choose myself from the catalog.
